On Monday, October 24, 2016, Marival Residences Luxury Resort Nuevo Vallarta was host to a 7-course dinner created by Chef Xavi Pérez Stone along with executive chef Alfredo Jimenez, as part of the “Vallarta Nayarit Gastronomica” Event.
The 8th edition of Vallarta Nayarit Gastronomica took place from October 23rd to 26th, 2016 with the country of Spain as the special guest.
The opening night of one of the most important and consolidated food festivals in Mexico and Latin America shined with a spectacular evening and fancy outdoor seating in Marival Residences Luxury Resort in Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit.
The night began with a luxurious cocktail located in Brunello Lobby Wine Bar. The cocktail was sponsored by Moët & Chandon Nectar Imperial & Hennessy Very Special and L.A. Cetto wines.
The event held over 130 attendees, who enjoyed exclusive cocktails and jazz music during the beginning of the evening and were later delighted by the creations of Chef Xavi Pérez Stone, from the Axiote Restaurant and winner of Iron Chef Canada, in collaboration with the host Chef, Alfredo Jimenez. To complete the pairing Pilar Meré, Best Sommelier of Mexico, made the exquisite selection of wines L.A. Cetto. Each of the selected wines had scored over the 90 Parker points; while for Moët & Chandon, the Sommelier was Miguel Angel Fernandez.
The guest of honor was Chef Jordi Roca, from El Celler de Can Roca, who joined us during the course of the evening. El Celler de Can Roca is considered the best restaurant in the World, with 3 Michelin stars. Chef Jordi Roca is considered one of the best pastry chefs in the world.
This festival is an example of collaboration between Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit to be positioned as well-known gastronomic destinations. With Vallarta Nayarit Gastronomica as a cultural event, its main focus is to teach students to become better tourism professionals with a higher competitive level.
With a lovely weather to enjoy the evening, every dish was a delight, not only to the palate, but also to the sight. The evening came to an end with praise and compliments from the attendees, who thanked the chefs for the exquisitely prepared dishes. In response, the chefs thanked everyone who made it possible to carry out this event.
